Abstract An experimental and computational investigation was conducted to study the interaction between bubbles generated by an underwater explosive (UNDEX) a nearby steel plate structure. The experiments were performed for different standoff distances investigate gas bubble rigid High-speed photography utilized capture bubble’s behavior, series of pressure transducers used record emitted histories. numerical simulations with Dynamic System Mechanics Advanced Simulation software, which is full y coupled Eulerian–Lagrangian fluid–structure code. validated in terms detonation pressure, structural surface pressures, UNDEX growth collapse. Results show that distance greatly influences shape, migration speed, jetting loading into its adjacent Moreover, impulse shock wave on proved be small comparison collapse bubble. magnitude depends distance, symmetry, relative location.
